Children’s Museum of Atlanta Plans Boo-tiful Lineup of Fun throughout October for Halloween and more
Families are invited for terrific tricks and delightful treats all month long
This October, Children’s Museum of Atlanta invites children and caregivers to be immersed in spooktacular fun and hands-on activities designed to celebrate the Halloween season! Featured October activities include “Trick-or-Treat” events allowing little ones to enjoy costume-clad adventures filled with trick-or-treating, live music and plenty of candy. with Building Blocks, which facilitates imaginative play for preschoolers, continues with Artsy Mondays, Tinkerin’ Tuesdays, Messy Thursdays and Jam Session Fridays. Kids will blast off in a rocket to the moon, fix the Autochef and more at the Museum’s newest featured exhibit, Wallace and Gromit: Get Cracking! All activities are designed to encourage imaginative play and provide memorable family experiences all month long!
October Programming
Through Thursday, Oct. 31
Calling all the ghosts, ghouls and goblins for Halloween-themed activities that blend creativity, science and engineering. From Monster Acting Class and a twist on story time, to crafting haunted houses and building skeleton bridges, there is something for everyone. Little artists will get into the Halloween spirit in the Art Studio using creativity to design spooky decorations and fill them with ghoulish creatures! At Jane’s Innovation Station, kids will use cotton swabs as “bones” to construct their own skeleton bridges. At the Science Bar, young scientists will dive into the fascinating world of skeletal systems.

Art Studio
Spook, scare, trick and treat by cutting and glueing together a special haunted house and populating it with creepy creatures!
Jane’s Innovation Station
At Jane’s Innovation Station, young creators will embark on an October adventure, building their very own Skeleton Bridge! Using cotton swabs as “bones,” kids will design and construct a bridge strong enough to support small jack-o-lanterns on their way to a Halloween party. Along the way, they will explore structural design, test the strength of their creations and develop important motor and problem-solving skills—all while having a howling good time!
Science Bar
Young scientists will dive into the world of skeletal systems, exploring how animal bones work and uncovering the science behind skeletons to ultimately discover that bones are not so spooky after all.

Little artists will spin their way into creativity with this messy activity, using a salad spinner in a whole new way to create beautiful masterpieces. This engaging experience allows toddlers to explore color and texture through sensory play and cheerful mess-making. The fun will wrap up with a toddler storytime at noon, making a perfect artsy morning.
Tinkerin’ Tuesdays
Oct. 8, 15, 22 and 29
Build and experiment with the Marble Run, where children collaborate to design their own exciting rollercoasters, inspired by rollercoaster designer Alfredo Ayala! This engaging activity promotes persistence and resilience as kids explore various combinations and connections to construct their pathways. It also fosters cognitive development by enhancing problem-solving skills as they aim to ensure the balls roll smoothly through their creations. Playtime will conclude with a toddler storytime!
Messy Thursdays
Oct. 10, 17, 24 and 31
Little ones will refine their motor skills in Toothbrush Art, where scrubbing a toothbrush up, down and all around makes an adorable mess! This engaging activity focuses on fine motor control and grip strength, promoting healthy habits while celebrating the contributions of Dr. José Celso Barbosa. Playtime will close out with a toddler storytime.
“Jammin” Fridays
Oct. 11, 18 and 25
It’s time for kids to spread their wings and learn how to fly for “Birds Flip, Flop, Fly!” during this lively Friday Jam! Children will engage in imaginative play as they learn about the national birds of various Latin American countries, including the Andean Condor, the Palmchat and the Scarlet Macaw. This fun endeavor combines music, cooperative interaction between children and caregivers and the development of gross motor skills as little ones flap to the beat like their feathered friends. A baby book reading rounds out this session.
Sukkot
Sunday, Oct. 13
11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Steve Weintraub will be on stage leading the guests in a festive dance celebrating Sukkot while PJ Library hosts an interactive activity in the art studio celebrating the fall harvest.
Trick-or-Treat
Oct. 19 and 26
With a DJ, candy galore, festive activities and more, this ghoulishly good time is sure to delight everyone in the family! Little ones are encouraged to don their favorite costumes, trick-or-treat, build haunted houses and more.
Diwali
Sunday, Oct. 27 at 1 p.m.
A musical puppet show educates guests about the Hindu festival that symbolizes triumph of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance!

Wallace and Gromit: Get Cracking!
The Children’s Museum of Atlanta’s newest exhibit, Wallace & Gromit: Get Cracking!, transports visitors to the cozy North England home of the cheese-loving inventor Wallace and his loyal dog, Gromit. Visitors can step into their whimsical world, where they can blast off in Wallace’s rocket to the moon, fix the broken Autochef and design their own cracking contraptions. This interactive exhibit is designed to spark creativity and build problem-solving skills by encouraging children to tackle STEM-based challenges in fun and engaging ways. Ideal for ages 3 to 9, the exhibit also includes a “tot spot” for children under three. The exhibit is proudly sponsored by Georgia Natural Gas, with additional support from the City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs and Fulton County Arts & Culture.

Museum Admission:
Tickets are available to members and guests online, by phone, and in-person. Babies 11 months and younger and members are admitted for free. Museum Hours:
The Museum will operate in a timed entry model where guests can visit between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The Museum is closed on Wednesdays. Please check the Museum website to confirm hours of operation.
